Daher presents its TBM 930’s latest features in “The magic touch” video

TBM 930, The Magic Touch

Tarbes, France, December 10, 2018: The most recent features and functionality on the TBM 930 – the high-end model in Daher’s very fast turboprop aircraft family – are spotlighted in a new video: “TBM 930 – The Magic Touch,” available on the Daher TBM YouTube channel at:  http://bit.ly/TheMagicTouchVideo.

Enhancements available with the TBM 930 flight deck’s latest software version include:

  • Surface Watch™, which helps the pilot maintain enhanced situational awareness in the airport environment,
  • Baro VNAV, allowing approaches with vertical guidance when WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) navigation is not available, and
  • Visual approach assistance for pilot in performing visual approaches with vertical guidance at non-controlled airports.

Connectivity also reaches a new level on the TBM 930 with implementation of Garmin’s Flight Stream 510 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth linkup system to mobile devices running Garmin Pilot – which includes now FltPlan Go – and Foreflight apps.

Building on the cabin restyling implemented by Daher last year, every seat in Model Year 2018 TBM 930s and TBM 910s are the new heated seats, with the heating function controlled. Once the mode is engaged by the pilot via a master control in the cockpit, each occupant can choose whether to utilize the heating – and select either light or moderate heat settings.

Other new features introduced on Model Year 2018 aircraft are tailored for further improvements in pilot interface. This includes backlighting on the cockpit’s central console to provide enhanced visibility at night for the manual trim, power lever, flaps lever and override controls. Additionally, a high-fidelity microphone has been incorporated in the pilot’s oxygen mask for clear communications with air traffic control when the mask is in use.

Daher’s superior level of service for TBM aircraft is further evolving to meet customer expectations. In addition to the continued inclusion of Daher’s Total Care Program (TCP) coverage as part of the TBM “Elite package,” TBM 930/TBM 910 customers will receive a host of new services, such as subscriptions to the Garmin Pilot database and Jeppesen Pilot Pak™ bundle and, in countries where available, a three-month subscription to Sirius XM weather and radio.

Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit commented: “The ‘Magic Tough’ video underscores what we offer today to our customers in bringing the most modern cockpit technology available to make every flight with our TBM 900-series aircraft an ultimate pilot experience.”

About the Daher TBM www.tbm.aero

The TBM 910 and TBM 930 are the latest members in Daher’s TBM family of very fast single-engine turboprop aircraft. Differences between the two models are concentrated on their primary avionics: Garmin’s G1000 NXi avionics system with physical keypad for the TBM 910; Garmin’s G3000 with touchscreen controller for the TBM 930.

Both aircraft offer superior performance – a maximum cruise speed of 330 kts. – and high efficiency with a 1,730-naut. mi. maximum range and a fuel consumption at economy cruise of 37 U.S. gallons per hour. This results from aerodynamic improvements, along with other aircraft enhancements. The maximum range and useful load, as well as the ability to land at small airports, are some of the customers’ favorite features.

To date, a total of 910 TBM aircraft have been delivered to international owners and operators, with the global fleet accumulating some 1.6 million flight hours. TBM 900-series aircraft already have received 268 orders since their launch, with 238 delivered through October 31, 2018. They are built by Daher on its industrial site at the airport of Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées (Hautes Pyrénées), France.
