Daher selects StandardAero for maintenance, repair and overhaul services on TBM aircraft PT6 engines in Europe
Tarbes, France, July 11, 2016 – Daher today announced its selection of StandardAero as the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services supplier for Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 engines that power Daher’s family of TBM very fast turboprop aircraft based in Europe.
Following an extended selection process, a three-year contract was awarded to StandardAero for coverage to be available to all European TBM customers for their PT6A turbine powerplants. TBM aircraft operated by the French Ministry of Defense in a fleet managed by Daher under a Full Operational Support agreement also are included in this coverage.
StandardAero is recognized by Pratt & Whitney Canada as a designated distributor and overhaul services provider for the PT6A. With more than 25 years of reliable turboprop experience, StandardAero provides options and recommendations that are tailored to specific operator needs.
StandardAero’s facilities and infrastructure have been specifically designed for component repair and maintenance events with the goal of minimizing downtime and reducing operator costs.
“We have selected StandardAero for its excellent track record in MRO operations, which fully match our expectations – and the requirements of our European operators – for support,” commented Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit. “High-quality, competitive and comprehensive support is part of the formula for success with our TBM family, and having StandardAero on our team will enable us to deliver the best service in the marketplace.”

About Daher TBM aircraft – www.tbm.aero
The TBM 900 and TBM 930 are the latest members in Daher’s TBM family of very fast single-engine turboprop aircraft. Differences between the two models are concentrated on their primary avionics: Garmin’s G1000 avionics system with physical keypad for the TBM 900; Garmin’s G3000 with touchscreen controller for the TBM 930.
Both aircraft offer superior performance – a maximum cruise speed of 330 kts. – and high efficiency with a 1,730 naut. mi. maximum range and a fuel consumption at economy cruise of 37 U.S. gallons per hour. This results from aerodynamic improvements, along with other aircraft enhancements. The maximum range and useful load, as well as the ability to land at small airports, are some of the customers’ favorite features.
Overall, Daher has booked a total of 145 orders for the TBM 900 and TBM 930 since their launch in 2014 and 2016, respectively. As of June 15, deliveries brought the total number of TBM-series aircraft received by customers to 783, with this global fleet accumulating some 1.3 million flight hours
