FLY WITH DIGITAL POWER

Taking maximum advantage of today’s turboprop technology, the TBM 960 provides high efficiency for more sustainability. Its digitally-controlled turboprop engine enables the pilot to use precise settings in flying with maximum efficiency. Daher’s recommended cruise setting for the TBM 960 lowers fuel consumption to 57 U.S. gallons per hour at a fast cruise speed of 308 kts.

THE QUINTESSENTIAL

TBM

Piloting with precision is ensured through all phases of flight, benefiting from Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6E-66XT advanced powerplant and the five-blade Hartzell Raptor composite propeller, both of which are associated with the fully digital Engine and Propeller Electronic Control System (EPECS). Safety also is paramount with the most advanced cockpit available today, including the game-changing HomeSafe™ emergency autoland system.

POWERPLANT

DIGITAL ENGINE

CONTROL

With simplified single-lever operation, the PT6E-66XT turboprop engine enables easy startup, followed by precise, predictable control and full digital envelope protection. Its other attributes are easier engine power management and parameter analysis. This reduces pilot workload by integrating all functions while protecting the engine’s life.

THE OPTIMIZED PROPELLER

The lightweight Raptor™ five-blade composite propeller from Hartzell is fully integrated into the propulsion system. It has been specifically designed to reduce overall weight and improve the TBM 960’s takeoff distance, climb and cruise speeds. Turning at 1,925 rpm during maximum power output, the Raptor contributes to limiting noise and vibration – making the TBM 960 a “smooth operator” wherever it flies.

PEACE OF MIND FOR PASSENGERS

PEACE OF MIND FOR PASSENGERS

The TBM 960’s HomeSafe™ emergency autoland function automatically brings the airplane to a runway touchdown if the pilot is incapacitated. This game-changing technology extends Daher’s innovation to a feature that specifically addresses safety from the passengers’ point of view.

gwx-8000

GWX™ 8000

Advanced surveillance features of the 16-color advanced Doppler weather radar include lightning and hail prediction, turbulence detection, zero blind range for close-in returns, and ground clutter suppression.

AUTOMATIC DE-ICING SYSTEM

AUTOMATIC DE-ICING SYSTEM

The automatic de-icing system features a preventive and redundant icing condition detection solution for ultimate protection. With this advisory automatic ice protection systems, the pilot is assisted in detecting icing conditions or accumulation.

garmin-3000

SMART GAUGES

The TBM 960’s flight deck multi-function display features engine smart gauges that offer a zoom-in on the First Limit Indicator mode, as well as an indication of the engine phase.

gdl-60

GARMIN DATALINK EQUIPEMENT

For enhanced connectivity, this datalink system allows G3000 database updates from Garmin servers, as well as from tablets via secured exchange systems with 4G/WiFi/Bluetooth data transmission.

electronic standby instrument

ELECTRONIC STANDBY INSTRUMENT

The first solid-state integrated standby system specifically created for General Aviation aircraft and helicopters that provides dependable backup for attitude, airspeed, slip/skid and optional heading information.

homesafe

HOMESAFE™

The emergency system that automatically brings the airplane to a runway touchdown if the pilot becomes incapacitated.

single-switch

SINGLE SWITCH

The powerplant’s start sequence is activated by a single switch, with its electronic control system providing full engine protection – including automatic start abort to prevent ITT exceedance.

surface watch

SURFACE WATCH

Surface Watch™ provides aural and visual alerts to help the pilot maintain enhanced situational awareness in the airport environment – including the avoidance of potential risks from wrong runway use.

Baro V Nav

BARO V NAV

The Baro-VNAV system allows precision approaches to be flown with vertical guidance (LNAV+V) at airports where Space-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) or Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) are not available. The vertical guidance is provided by barometric altitude information from the aircraft. The specified vertical path typically is computed between two waypoints, or an angle from a single way point.

Visual Approach

VISUAL APPROACH

This feature provides assistance for visual approaches to non-controlled airports based on terrain and the classic 3-degree vertical path. It uses altimeter information from the aircraft’s pitot-static system and the air data computer to provide advisory vertical guidance while taking terrain and obstacle clearance into account. The procedure is designed to help pilots fly a stabilized approach. The visual approach can be activated when the aircraft is within five miles of the airport.

E-throttle

E-THROTTLE

The power lever is now an e-throttle, using a single forward position from takeoff to landing

Pilot Door

PILOT DOOR

The pilot door provides easy access to the pilot who can easily board the aircraft.

Overhead panel

OVERHEAD PANEL

The overhead panel integrates a leather covered handle on the central frame of the windshield, while the stand-by compass has been integrated in the MD 302 digital Back up instrument.

ELECTRICALLY HEATED SEATS

ELECTRICALLY HEATED SEATS

All TBM seats can now be electrically-heated. Once the mode is engaged by the pilot via the master control on the cockpit panel, each occupant can choose whether to utilize the heating – and select either light or moderate heat settings.

GARMIN G3000®

This touchscreen-controlled integrated flight deck features graphical synoptics for airframe, electrical and fuel systems, enabling easy monitoring and faster troubleshooting.

FLIGHT DECK

CONNECTED SAFETY

TBM 960 is equipped with the GWX 8000 – an advanced Doppler radar with automatic threat analysis. This all-digital weather radar uses StormOptix™ analysis to automatically adjust antenna sweep patterns to accurately profile weather cells. Advanced surveillance features include lightning and hail prediction, turbulence detection, zero blind range for close-in returns and ground clutter suppression.
