Biggin Hill, UK, September 22, 2015 – Daher today congratulated FLYING Smart on the opening of its new operations base at London-Biggin Hill Airport in the United Kingdom, which will serve the company’s role as a recently-appointed authorized distributor for Daher’s TBM family of very fast turboprop aircraft.
The facility’s inauguration was held in conjunction with the Business and General Aviation Day (BGAD) event being held at London-Biggin Hill Airport.
FLYING Smart – a partner of the FLYINGGROUP, an Antwerp-based leading European business aviation operator – has been designated as Daher’s TBM authorized distributor for the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. Managed by David Fabry, a TBM pilot and owner, FLYING Smart offers its clients the FLYINGGROUP’s capabilities in all aspects of aircraft ownership and travel needs, along with its own expertise in TBM operations.

Fabry said today’s BBGAD event at London-Biggin Hill Airport enables the UK business and general aviation sector to learn more about TBM aircraft, and hear initial details of FLYING Smart’s services – with more information on its expansion plans to be disclosed in the coming months.

The TBM 900 is the latest member in Daher’s TBM family of very fast single-engine turboprop aircraft. It offers superior performance – a maximum cruise speed of 330 kts. – and high efficiency with a 1,730 naut. mi. maximum range and a fuel consumption at economy cruise of 37 U.S. gal per hour. This results from aerodynamic improvements, along with other aircraft enhancements. The maximum range and useful load, as well as the ability to land at small airports, are some of its customers’ favorite features.
As of September 15, 2015, deliveries of the TBM 900 brought to 755 units the total number of TBMseries aircraft received by customers, with this global fleet accumulating more than 1.2 million flight hours.
